It is a pic of the charge pipe, tube, the black wet looking area is the oil that is being blown out of the unit.. I don't have a pic of that are any better, but here is vid of that area.. def not a heating issue

Doesn't look normal to me, not sure why they would suggest that it is normal.

I saw that you polished this unit up, was this a unit that was previously on your truck for a period of time?

Did it have this issue in the past or did it recently begin?

I can understand that a LITTLE BIT might be normal. It is due to the pressure that is created in the unit, as it does not have a vent on it.. Yes I did polish it, it was a satin unit.. It is doing it just the same now as it did.. So maybe the old seal was good.. I am the 3rd owner of the unit, I would guess it has atleast 75k on it. Again all the tolerances are right on time.. The impeller shaft looked great, no scoring or marks in it.. So I am going to try the vent to see if it stops it...

How are you going to vent the blower? Threw the oil fill? After reading your post i ran my truck, then went to check the oil in the blower and could feel pressure on it when i went to unscrew it. There is deffently alot of pressure building up in there obviously. If you vent it, i wonder if you would lose boost or blow oil out of the vent? Keep us posted on it.

If you look on top of the unit, you have the fill opening with the level checker in there, also there is a allen bolt to the left, in the top of the unit. That is where the vent needs to go.. I took the same size bolt, drilled a tiny hole in it yesterday, with out any screen or anything on it, yes it blew fluid out of it. But if you have some type of baffled vent, even like a catch can that will allow excess oil to run up into it, then after you shut the truck off it allows it to run back in the unit, I do feel it should take away the problem with the oil blow bye

My brother's D1 was leaking out the fill plug after a few hard pulls on a hot day. He called procharger and they said it was normal since it wasn't vented. I think it needs some type of vent personally.

my p1 will spray a lil oil but it takes a while to really notice it , not something you see after running it once.it takes a good week or two or longer to really see it but its not that bad. the only reason it would leak would be because pressure build up in the head unit and the only way pressure builds up in there would be from heat . so if your leaking allot you must have allot of heat building up but then again my head unit is very hot to the touch after operation . if you can figure out a way to vent it with out loosing the oil i think you will have solved your problem. let us know what you do.
