The tune was done through efi live. And we have done a lot of checking into stuff since the first time things went wrong. I know it was bad fuel the first time because I didn't put 91 in it.

I'm running tr6 plugs, 56lb injectors with the stock fuel pump. Haven't had any lack of fuel, I actually get rich codes sometimes at idle.

And as you guys have said many times, 6-7-8lbs on a stock 5.3 should last without hardly any problems. I'm just having trouble figuring out what's going wrong here. The first time I had about 8000 miles. This time it went 3000.

If it were the tune, where should I go from here?

Just so you know, rich codes at idle mean nothing for wide open fueling. Not saying it's the tune, just clarifying.

It's not the Pistons fault, I can guarantee that. Only pistons I run in motors I've built and never has the slightest issue. Either a tuning issue or machining issue.

When you say you didn't put 91 in it are saying you put 87 in it or something? The tune would be on the ragged edge and you beating on it if that caused the issue.
Anyways yes blackbear uses efilive. Was it via mail order? Autocal? In person?
You are on the stock pump and 56lbs injectors. I would say that might be a factor unless it's a newer flex fuel pump. Do you have a wideband or a fuel pressure gauge?

Default fuel pump

i have an 02 chevy. 02 has small tank opening and return style .i have seen stock pumps run out of fuel with bolt ons cam and injectors .dont feel a stock pump can keep up with 7lbs of boost and 56lbs injectors.

Tune unless you fucked up the fuel system

Get a tuner that deals with boosted setups besides a PD blower

Everyone is a tooner but only few are tuners

Who would y'all recommend I go to have it retuned? I know that I'm not running short of fuel. I have a wideband gauge and it runs rich almost all the time. It's never showed lean when I'm on it.

The bad fuel was what blew out the original pistons. I know I caused that problem. The wiseco pistons never had anything hard on them except the day they went bad.

You could run 87 octane with boost honestly if tune was adjusted for it....think a bout that

Lets get back to my original questions here.

Would 317 heads be a good idea on this build?

Who should I have tune the thing if Black Bear is so bad?

Would stock replacement pistons be good enough for 7#?
