Factory rings, or aftermarket? As high as the ring sits on stock pistons Id go .0055~.006'' X cyl bore dia top, and a little more on the 2nd.

You need to check it first. I run them tight on all my stuff, but recommend a little more gap to others. I don't want to be at blame if something happens, better safe than sorry. Do you have the original rings out of it still? If so what are they?

i do my top ring at .030-.032 and just make sure the 2nd ring is at least .028 for boost on stock rings. works well. if you go with aftermarket rings they will come with instructions on figuring proper ring gap, I always stay on the bigger side of the suggestions. Good luck witht he build.
