My 3" SP Boost Cutout gate started rattling which is very annoying sound.

When I crawled under the truck and put an adjustable wrench to hold the gate shaft, it stopped. It will go back and rattle once I remove the force of the wrench.

Does anyone know a fix for the valve rattle?

 

Loosen the adjusting rod and turn it out 1/2 to 1 full turn. That corrected mine.

Since I already took out the SP gate flange, I did adjust the rod but it should be turned in. Turning it out will leave the gate slightly open.

The rod that is bolted to the buttefly gate is the one that rattles because of some free play. Now after turning the adjusting rod in, there is no free play.

I will have to put it back in my exhust pipe and see if the rattle is gone.

 

Over the winter I would like to make a new blade, and grind a little notch in the blade that I could fill with sealant. The sealant would then rest against the shoulder that seals it completely eliminating any rattle.
