Default Random question/paranoia setting in?

Almost ready to boost my only vehicle/my daily driver. 2011 5.3 6L80e, going to run a kb intercooled kit, 76mm. Got the tial mvr wastegate, anyways I have the black and red spring installed for about 10psi. Now I want my dd to last untill I can get something to be my dd, so I may be paranoid but sitting here with the wastegate in my hands, I find it very hard to push the piston in, it feels like it takes alot more then 10psi to push it open? to even get the springs in bymself I had to put a wood working clamp on the wastegate and push the 2 halfs together to get the bolts in, is this normal?

Yeah its normal. If you have an air compressor you can set it to 10psi and blow into the wastegate hose and see if it opens.

Yeah that's normal remember its 10 pounds per square inch not 10 pounds to open the wastegate... My race car has a 20 psi spring in it try to open that lol!

Dead on...

Remember, it doesn't even take 10 PSI to flip a train car over

10psi wg springs are actually 20psi. They need 10 from boost and 10 from back pressure to open them.

well yeah I knew it was 10 psi and the face of the piston is more then 1 square inch, But now that kyle says it takes 20 psi to open a 10 pound spring that makes sence to me, thanks for the reassurance guys!
