Default Radixed LQ9

I just bought a Radix and I am wondering how boost will my motor handle. For now I think I am going to run the stock pulley but I am getting a 3.1" and a 2.9". I would like to up the boost and have Allen Nelson tune it sometime this summer. How much will the transmission handle without ANY problems? This truck is my daily driver so I need it to be reliable.

Invest in a wideband and scaning software to monitor KR and AFR to make sure you don't damage your motor. That said you shouldn't have any problem with 10 or 11lbs of boost.

You're not gonna be able to run 10-11 lbs in a 10.5 to 1 motor without a boost cooler. Even then that may be a little high. As far as tuning goes Brian at PCM4less beat Nelson by .01 in the CHP Supercharged Silverado SS article. As a bonus PCM4less is $250 for the tune and $50 for additional updates + $15 to ship and he can supply a core ofr you. Have you checked around at www.SilveradoSS.com ? Lots of Radix info there. I have a 03 SS and just bought a radix for it, but I haven't installed it yet. Later

The LQ9 will handle all the boost a radix will throw at it. I've tested it right down to a 2.8" pulley and a couple have ran the 2.75" pulley on it. On 04' and newer though you're going to find that anything smaller than a 3.0" pulley you're going to be running out of injector and running straight into lean above 5k or so. The trans with a good shift kit should have no problem handling the power of a radix'd 6.0L.

Your statement about Nelson is VERY misleading. In that article the owner of pcm4less was there tuning it IN PERSON and Nelsons tune was a MAIL ORDER tune extremely unfair comparison and just goes to show how well Allen does his job and how badly pcm4less does theirs. Dont show a one sided story if you post something show ALL the facts one way or the other

I will be taking the 5 hour drive to San Antonio to have Allen tune it in person. No mail order tunes here.

Zippy,
Just a shift kit will improve the reliability of my tranny?

Yes, my customers have had great success with a shift kit only on a 65E.
