Default Radix oil change

Couple questions I couldn't find solid answers to by searching...

Is there a "how-to" for changing the oil in a Radix? If not, can someone provide me some guidance?

Also, what is the oil capacity? I have two 4oz. bottles of the GM supercharger oil...is this stuff ok to use in the Radix and will 8oz. be enough?

Any help you guys can provide would be great!

How many hours are on your SC? Oh, I see it's awaiting install, are you just wanting to 'freshen' it up?

The blower's installed, but I bought it used and even though the guy I bought it from said he only put 3600 miles on the kit before he took it off his 5.3, I figure it's "better safe than sorry" and just change out the oil so that Maggie's running sweet for a good long time!

Contact Magnuson or PM brian@JPA to get the right answer. I don't know if its the same stuff GM sells or not. As long as the wax seal is still on the fill port screw I wouldn't worry about it. The internal oil is good for 100K miles.

I was thinking about the same thing you are and when I contacted Magnuson they told me not to worry about it untill 100,000 miles. I have my blower of with about 10,000 miles. They said to use Ford supercharger oil. Such as in the lightning and cobra. I belive they said it would take 8oz. I had chaged the oil on my cobra's blower before and it weren't a big deal. I just removed the snout to drain it. The guy at Magnuson said it was kind of a lot to changeing the oil in the radix. I am not sure how much different it really is but I decided not to change it do to there reccomendation.

I don't know about the 100K thing but if it's anything like the Eaton M90 on the Impala SS I change mine every 10K it's supposed to last like 25K but I'm crazy with changing oil. It should take about the 8oz I use a 30cc syringe and some clear tubing to draw/suck it out. and then squirt the new stuff in. The GM oil once used stinks to HIGH HOLY HELL and doesn't wash off too easy. All in all I would contact Maggie but I can't see it being too much different because a Maggie is just a custom Eaton.

Well I'd love to get the "right" answer to this. Maybe that's why so many guys get blower knock, they need to change the oil. I've always heard that the MP112 doesn't need any type of service until 100K miles. If oil changes are supposed to be more frequent then I need to know.

GM supercharger oil will be just fine, that is what EATON specs for the blowers. I am 99.9% sure 6 oz is what is speced by magnsuon for the 112 head unit, I will double check for you tomorrow.

Why are you changing the oil? IT is good for 75+K miles.
