RADIX Belt tensioner
#1
I raise my hood every day to service up the Meth so I see under there every day.
Anyways yesturday I noticed some belt dust and that is not the norm on my set up next I found that the belt jumped off the Belt tensioner by two ribs and that is what was causing the belt dust.
so I put the belt back on correctly which is dificult because of the spring tension of the tensioner is very strong so I know its not a week tensioner,
Anybodt eles seen this before?
and what do you think caused it?

I've broken mine twice. The belt jumping completely off. Never seen it just drop off a couple ribs. My belt jumps were both attributed to a hard pull with breaking traction and a quick back pedal.

Are any of you guys using the 2 Metco or other brand 100mm idler pulley's?
The larger idler pulley's give more wrap around the Radix pulley. That gives the belt a better bite, more pulley surface coverage, and will be less likely the belt will jump the pulley.
Just thought this might help those who haven't done this $90-100 mod.

not yet but, I have looked ino it. Since the tensioner is about $85 the bigger idler pulleys wouldn't be a bad idea. What I would really like is to find the 100mm idler pullied with a lip on it. The Metcos are smooth like the stock ones.

Is it jumping off to the front of the pulley or back side?

I romped on it preety hard yesturday racing and beating a SVT mustang and
latter I waxed a 2006 vett.
The belt stayed on and no belt dust.
I think what happened to make the belt jump was the tensioner may have some interferance inside and may bind a little causing the belt to loose tension and jump off so I spray lubbed the inside of the tensioner and it seems to move with less binding.
