Safe to say you're completely un-tuned above the 9 psi he dyno-tuned you at. I wouldn't push it.

If it were me, I'd have it tuned at the higher boost level, then DD on the low boost setting, and turn it up at the track, or when you "need to" on the street. Much safer, IMO.

As Cody said, timing is a critical part of the recipe for a boost tune. I'm guessing that if he set your fueling that rich (assumably to be safe), that he also has your timing at a "safe" level.

But I also believe that every engine "wants what it wants", and too much/too little fuel, or spark advance is not "good" for the engine. Is it possible that your AFR gauge is out of calibration?

Mixing in race gas will help prevent detonation but it won't help you make more power unless your tuned for it.

Adding high-octane fuel won't have an effect on the mixture of air and fuel per se, but it can give you some rich readings on your wideband. High octane fuel burns slower, so without enough timing, the mixture can exit the cylinder still burning. The biggest concern with that is EGTs...

One thing to consider is if your 93 gas has 10% ethanol (if it was tuned for that). If it does, and your race gas doesn't, it will actually be richer compared to 93 as 10% ethanol likes a 14.3 compared to 14.7.

Allen is pretty safe with his tunes and doesnt just leave areas above 9psi untouched. I wouldnt worry about turning it up a few psi.

Of course they aren't untouched, but they aren't "dialed in" either...
