R2300/LS9 pics!
This is a side-view of the engine. Notice how tall the supercharger-intercooler are above the rocker covers. Also note the 11-rib drive pulley.
The next few pictures show details of the supercharger and intercooler internals. Notice the brass butterfly valve inside the supercharger.
Note the two gears at the back of the supercharger.
The next few pictures show details of the Piston - Rod - Pin Assemblies. Note that Corvette has gone to Wire Locks to retain the piston pins.
Also, note the large gap between the top piston ring groove and the second and oil ring grooves.
The next photo shows the shape and size of the piston top. How many of us have a piston dome design like this?
The next two pictures show the timing chain and gear set - It's still a single row chain.
The valve train still retains the familiar Beehive valve spring and the standard non-roller tip rocker arm.
The final two pictures show the redesigned, improved dry-sump oil pump and an internal view of the water pump. For those who road race this engine package, all you would need to do for reliability now is to replace the standard LS9 oil pan and dry-sump tank with the same pieces from A.R.E.

Those shots are beautiful! . Now for the next iteration add D.I. and A.F.M and have an awesome 700 HP truck motor that might manage a few more miles per gallon on the highway than the standard 5.3! Highway cruise that is, with six speed auto. Makes me want to build one right now!!
