Default Question for the turbo guys

I'm going turbo on my 2011 silverado. Wanting to start with 8lb of boost be able to used a manual boost controller to adjust up to 10lb or so on meth. Question is my boost controller is a ball and spring style and how do you think i should run the hoses and what spring to run in gate. I'm was thinking I could run around a 8lb spring inthe gate and run a boost signal with manifold vac/boost to the boost controller then to the lower/down port of the gate and vent the top port. I have read up on this but wanting to see what you guys are running that works.

I have always referenced the bottom port and put a regulator on the top port for extra boost..

Do you tee off of the boost signal on the lower port and run hose to regulator then to the top port. You think my style boost controller would work this way? You use a small air regulator right?
