Default Pulling with a Maggie

Just getting started on my truck. Now it is a 4.8 with a 4L60. Putting in a 5.3 with a 4L80 and a Maggie, Long Tube Headers 2.5 Exhaust true duels. 3:43's in the rear. Now to get to the point. I do some pulling with my truck 24' enclose. Think this setup will be OK? The truck is a 02 SWB Standard Cab. Any inputs will be welcome. Everything is ready to go just need to get up off my but and get on with it.

It will tow like no other.

Had about 5000 behind mine once. Up a large grade, 70mph. Never dropped a gear, in OD and the TC locked. All it took to make it to the top was about 6psi.

You'll do fine pulling. Just don't slam the acc pedal to the floor when you have a heavy load. If you use all of the power available, you'll get into problems. It's not idiot proof. You know how your truck pulled before the radix. Just use that, or a little more, power while towing and you'll be fine.

I love towing with my maggie! It seems like I actually get better gas mileage, but I think that's because I keep my eye on the boost gauge. I try to stay out of boost most of the time, for the transmission's sake. Any time I'm in more than 5 psi boost, I'm watching the wideband & the trans temp gauge like a hawk.

I towed about 7000 pounds for 100 miles, mostly highway thru the mountains. It was nice to never shift out of overdrive, and barely have to tip into the throttle. Torque is abundant with the maggie, especially at lower rpm. FWIW, I only used 1/4 tank of gas in that 100 miles of towing. Oh Yeahhhhhh!!!!! lol
