It does run strong. The torque off the line is sick. I'm pretty sure it's well into the 11's now at full weight. The problem is, they closed our track and I will have to drive for a couple hours to go make a run. My next step before I do that though is to install some ID injectors and clean up the tune. Shooting for 600rwhp.

I'd be really surprised if you aren't at 600 to the wheels...

Maybe I am. After the big headers, exhaust, smaller pulley and new tranny, this truck is a new beast. It feels like it has 25% more jam. That 3" exhaust system was really holding me back. I had 4 big guys in it today and did a 4wd launch. It was hot out but felt like my fastest run yet.
Can't wait to dyno it and then run a 1/4 mile.

I was thinking about it... youre really not that far off at all. You push 7# with a 2.9 on a slightly smaller blower than I have and I make 5# with a 3.2. Doesnt seem like there is anything wrong to me. Sure overlap isnt ideal, but I doubt you are bleeding off that much boost.

I will slap on a 2.9 soon to see how much boost I make, but I wouldn't be surprised to only see 8# or so, in fact its what I would expect.

I wouldn't worry about 0 overlap, I wouldn't want positive but that's just me. Personally I prefer -2 to -10

Yea I agree that its not something to worry about.

Sure there are better cams for your current build, but I certainly dont think its holding you back. At this stage in the game I would most likely not do the GT2-3... I think you could do a lot better.

I swapped to a 2.9" pulley on my 1900 and It netted me around 3 PSI more on my current set up from 5-5.5# to 8-8.5#.

I expected more... but I guess we'll see as I can spend more time with it. Hopefully the OD crank wills still put me around 11-12 or so. I also expect that uncorking the intake tube would help a lot, but a slightly larger exhaust might bring me back to where I started anyway.

Logged some nice runs with the 2.7" last night and it netted me just north of 10# in second gear. I think the OD crank will get me to 12.5 to 13. Perfect. I have a few more changes to make in adding a more free flowing exhaust and a 4" intake, but I think they may net each other out from a boost prospective.

TVS 1900 on a bone stock 09 5.3 single chamber flowmaster is all that is done to the exhaust system. K&N drop in filter to stock air box.
3.7"=5 psi
3.4"= 7.5 psi
3.0"= 12 psi

4.0 Whipple on 408 ls. This has a 8" crank pulley. Around 10:1 comp. 251/261 @.050" on a 114 lsa. 5" inlet. stock 243 heads. 1 3/4 full length headers and dual 3" exhaust.
5.0"= 9 psi
4.2"'= 15 psi

Figured I'd give a little update here.

I tossed on the 8 rib belt system finally... OD crank (8.25") and the 2.7" snout gets me just north of 13# when loaded in second gear. When I first hit it I see around 11.5# or so.

I'm willing to bet as things cool down I will see in the range of 14 PSI.
