its a trade off,
yea the longer the tube the same type of issue. The mount area just does not have enough height to give a large enough core sizing so we went thicker/shorter tube length. This will help the cfm through the core while still yeilding a cool outlet temp. The thinner longer tube stuff you have to increase the inlet pressure to get the cfm through the core and your starting with a hotter air temp.
The thickness to tube length is what my intercooler guy spec'd out so far has not been wrong. knock of wood.
It should be an interest ride once done.

PT88 has no business on anything larger then a 370-380ci engine. Backpressure will climb through the roof quickly. A GT47-88 would be better suited with a large A/R of if you need something compact then a S88 which has a larger turbine wheel even then the two mentioned. But either way a 427 needs a T6 unit.....T4 is asking for trouble.
Nice looking kit though guys......good stuff either way.

Please place a PT88 on a 500ci engine. Count the bolts from the heads that fly out of the block when it lifts the heads off in .1 seconds.

Some guy's have ran them on 8.1L's. Im only talking about reving the engine to 4500~5K. I only shift my 6.0L T76 @5200RPM. The larger engine would have more of a diesel like power power curve. I watched a video where Parish made 1K RWHP @22~26PSI of boost. That was on a 408CI. I don't see how you couldn't run a T88 up to 12~15psi on a 427. I do agree that the back psi will be high if you rev the engine past 5500~6000RPM. I just don't see it necessary for every Turbo engine to be a rev king.
Agree, but a GT47 or S88 would spool the same if not sooner and make more power per PSI and you can still rev the motor to what RPM you want. Just something to think about.
