Procharger trouble

[QUOTE=zachm89;5224945]This is what my old P1 sounded like. Honestly I think it was louder than the D1 that i replaced it with, at idle at least.

Yeah that's pretty much what mine sounds like. I know videos usually don't do justice but I see so many videos of procharged vettes where you cant even hear the blower till almost WOT I don't know why others are so loud.

Did you ever run it with procharger oil? If so do you notice any noise difference by using a different oil?

Did a bunch of work to this truck and was concerned about the noise from the D1. Sounded like there was a bunch of slack in the gears, like it was eating itself. But I beat the **** out of it and the blower never had an issue.

Supposedly that blower had a helical gear set. The dude said it sounded that way because of it. You'd think it would be quieter, but who knows. All I have is his word on it.

That's weird normally the helical gear ones are almost undetectable (apparently) I have never actually heard one in person. I think I have decided to change directions a bit by the time I get an 8 rib setup, helical gears, and upgrade to a D1 that basically covers the cost of a trick kit so that's likely what I will do. Not slamming prochargers at all I still love em, I just had to learn the hard way how costly it is to make big power with a supercharger.

Its funny cause everyone told me the same thing, I don't know why I didn't listen. o well I actually like working on the truck so a turbo project will be fun plus then I can turn the power way up, blow up some **** and fix that!
