Procharger Shelled Out My Procharger burnt out tonight, its making a hard bearing and knocking noise=dead.
Im worried that fragments went into my intake what is the best way to check for motor damage?

Id pull the intake, (going to need to clean it anyway) and check for pieces in the runners before turning the engine over. Don't want to chance any more getting in the cylinders. If they are all clean, you would just need to clean the intale manifold really good. I'd still to a leak down test.
How long did you run it after the bearing failed? any missfires?
BTW, It's pretty sad the number of poeple who can't sleep at night.

Well I had to pull out the way so my truck was still running for a bit, from what I can tell it did'nt miss fire I think the Prochrager cooked internally.
It sounds pretty bad like a nails on a chalk board.
What the hell is a leak down test btw?

A leak down used two gauges on a manifold, a regulator, and shop air. With both valves closed you measure the amount of air going past the rings. Air will get throw, but how much tells you what the condition of the ring/cylinder walls etc. are in. It's like a compression test but the engine is not spinning.

Wilde, Thats helpful does that all come together as a kit to buy? or is it worth bringing to a shop that has one? The bearings sound toast that's the first thing that came out of mind head when I heard it.
I took the Procharger out the teeth on the impeller broke on the edge and all edges of it rubbed against the charger casing.

hmm, I'd pull all the tubing and intake manifold and clean it, but It doesn't look like there are going to be any large chuncks. Just fine metal, depending on how much you find would determine if the engine comes apart imo.
I'd remove the hump hose at the thuottle body and look very closelly for any aluminum. if there is none traped between the throttle body and plastic tube, chances are your engine is fine.
I just looked at your sig pic, Do you have a cooler after the charger?
Leak down testers are pretty easy to use, and some what cheap. just make sure if you buy one it has the right threads for the spark plug hole. most have three different hoses included. Leak down testers also help changing valve spring with the heads on.

You have been nailing everything wrongwith it I believe you know your $hit...
Yes it has an intercooler at the bottom, other thing to is a few days before it went out there was an oily residue on the outside of the Charger.
I checked the oil but it looked fine I don't know if it was on the way out. I only had the Charger for about 2 months and its toast maybe a "lemon".
The only thing that worries me is a fine silver dust all over the inside of the charger and tubing. You can see it here...
