Default Procharger Head unit needs rebuild..looking for some extra info

I had sent my P-1SC head unit to ATI to be inspected a few weeks ago. It had started making a new chirping noise which I thought may have been a bearing going bad. Today I talked with them and found out that my impeller was touching off on the compressor housing and the impeller and seals would need to be replaced which would cost close to $900.

Instead I am going to spend a little more and have it rebuilt into a D1 unit. I was running 12# of boost previously and the rep feels I will also need to upgrade to a 3 core intercooler and replace the pro flow with the race valve. Unfortunately I can't afford to do everything at once, so I was wondering if I run a little lower boost to start if I can get by temporarily with the 2 core and the pro flow.

When I upgrade the intercooler to a 3 core front mount, I want to put it in the opening of an SS bumper. Was wondering what size intercooler I would need to fit there. The standard 3 core on the procharger website is 27 x 12.5 x 3 and supports up to 825hp.

Also, was just wondering how the race valve gets mounted..

Going to be a little while to get this all done, plan on using my tax return check to help pay for most of this..

i agree with andy . your limited on space behind the bumper . by a after market intercooler from frozenboost.com it will be cheaper and mount it behind main grill.

I suppose ill put it behind the grill to make it a little easier. Did you run into any problems at all?

I used a lot of the stock procharger pipes. You have to cut a lot of the headlight bracket to make it fit but it will

Im going to go against the grain here, I mounted mine down low behind the bumper, used 95% of the PC piping, opt to buy about 50$ in polished stainless pipes, black couplers. Ac just fits between the frame rails, the IC is out ouf site for the most part. All in all I have about 3 hours of fitting, drilling, cutting..

Do you have any overhead pics of the engine bay where the piping for the intercooler goes in and out. I'd like to see how everything is routed in there.

Also, what brand and size T-clamps did you get? I bought a bunch of cheap mishimoto ones but all the ones I got didn't fit and would break when I tightened them.

Ull go better to buy an aftermarket intercooler like others are saying. The stock 3 core procharger ic doesnt cool that well at all. Even with a meth kit iat's still go more than 15* above ambient.
