Will a turbo heat the oil up enough to cause issues? Ive never thought about this, if anything I would have thought an EGT would be the next choice for a turbo setup.

That is what im wondering, especially under high boost conditions. EGT isnt as important on gas engines as it is on diesels.

the reason i was wondering about the oil press. gauge is because of the oil drain on the turbo, I have some knowledge of turbo's but never have owned anything turbo'd thats why i was wondering if the oil drain had enough press. going through it to cause problems.

oil drain should have basically no pressure, thats why guys use huge drain lines. I use a -4 feed and a -10 drain...

Only causes issues if you don't change the oil regularly enough, or if the oil lingers in the turbo due to a poorly set up return line. Either way, the heat from the turbo is going to reduce the life of your oil. I believe foose04 posted up a pretty good article about that a few weeks back.

yea i've seen the article, and thanks for clearing that up i assumed it wouldn't but then thought about it and wondered if there was enough pressure going through the oil drain to do some damage. its cleared up now
