With this combo, if I locked the converter I'd cross the line around 5400 rpm (virtually 0% slip) still around 120 mph but a slower et.

Later I moved to a 4.56 gear and a 29" tire with slightly more power I was trapping around 126 mph at 7000 rpm with the converter unlocked (near 6% slip). Then locking the converter I still trapped around 126 mph but crossing the line at around 6700 with an improved et.

Moral of the story is that it really depends on your power level and gearing. Obviously if your gearing and power has you crossing the line a 5000 rpm, your going to lose et by locking the converter further losing more rpm (horsepower).

Power levels with prochargers are very rpm dependent. If you can lock the converter making the driveline more efficient while still keeping the motor in the meat of the power band you will pick up some et.

Happy testing!
nice, seems like i will have to talk to flaco and make some tests at the track with him, lets see if he cans
