Porting a Radix?

Back to the whole porting idea. Is there material there on the MP112 to remove? If it isn't there, then it can't be done, case closed.
If it is, then I would like to get some numbers for the flow area of both blowers. Not the cfm, but the actual area. Then I'll start screwing with some calculations.

Thanks grippy for the heads up on the Eatons having twisted rotors. I wasn't sure about that.
Also, what do both blowers use for seals? And are both intercoolers the same size? Are rated at the same flow rate? These are all things that need to be considered and discussed when comparing apples to ********.

Making the discharge side bigger than it is now will cause turbulance in the blower housing, not to mention the rotor timing is very important.
Kevin, if you want to port it, I will be more than happy to sell you another blower to bolt on once you screw it up. If you would like to see side by side data on a Lightning 112 and the Radix 112, let me know and we will set up a time to flow them and you can witness the entire test with your own eyes. I guess my word is not good enough for some people

The rotor timing would be of main concern like you said. It seems that in any direction you try to remove material you run a serious risk of screwing it up.
My advice......don't do it.
Along the same lines, for you "bigger is better" crowd, do they make an eaton bigger than the 112?

man is this a ton of reading. i think a radix'd 5.3L could go 11's without too much work. flyer struggled alot and got his into the 11's. there are many SS trucks running 12's now with the radix at 5500lbs. i know that is with the 6.0L, but it shows the blower is able to push the air. think of what big tex's setup would run in a rcsb 2wd with a 4.10 gear and slicks. with the exception of trying to keep the IAT's down i'd bet the radix will go as fast as your STS kit did.
as for the lightnings, it's a real advantage from a tuning point of view to have a system that reads boost. if the silverado's computer was a 2bar system from the factory it would be a different story.

i had just noticed the forced induction section today. i seen you put a radix in your sig the other day. with as hard as you worked at making the STS kit go like hell i'm pretty anxious to see how well the radix goes for you. i think you'll have by far one of the fastest radix trucks around to boot. what did you do about the high compression of the 5.3L? did you leave it there?

I'm taking the GTP heads off because of the compression, selling those to recoup money on the Radix purchase and slapping a set of stock 6.0L heads on the engine. That should bring my compression down to 9.2:1 or so. I can't remember exactly. The block itself is about 10:1 or 9.9:1 with the HO pistons in it. I'm not gonna go nuts on the Z71 since it will be my daily driver and ONLY running truck for awhile. I would be happy to put it back in the 12s and call it a day. The big plans and most of the hard work will go into the RCSB.

Can someone clarify this? Does lower compression on a blown motor equal
more power? Should these H.O. 5.3 and 6.0 guys get pistons to lower compression?. No one has really clarified this point. seems to me that lower compression might lower resistance to the foced air coming in on compression stroke? I'm just not sure.
