Find out what piston material is best for your application... there are two alloys... I think one is 2618 and the other is 4xxx. One is stronger and is said to scuff your cylinder walls in as little as 5k miles without a coating on the skirts, and the other is softer and not as strong but said to make your bores last longer and to be quieter on startup. There are very reputable people on each side of the "which is better" argument.

just like corey said... it all depends on your heads chamber and you pistons dish... im running a -10 cc dish piston, and a 70cc chamber on my heads and have a 9 : 1 CR... my setup is good for alot of boost, but suffers greatly under NA...

Yea the LS9 is supercharged. The original poster wants to build an engine that is boost friendly for a turbo setup he plans on adding later on. Both the supercharger and the turbo are going to like a lower CR better.
The point I am trying to make is that the LS9 Corvette probably runs "normal" when you're not beating on it... with a 9.1:1 compression ratio. When you're just doing normal stop an go driving, the supercharger isn't really doing a whole lot... not until you put your foot into it
