Default Picked up the new Bosch 044 inline pump yesterday

I figure I will be needing some more fuel soon anyhow and I am pretty sure I am lean up top due to the fact I am still running a stock fuel pump. I not 100% sure I am going to put this inline yet as I have seen a couple threads of people hacking the crap out of thier bucket and installing it in the tank. Not really wanting to do that though....so i will most likely put it inline and see how she does. I picked up the parts from Summit to plumb it up clean. Just need to find a good harness to tie it in with, was thinking of the Nelson fuel pump harness, but still trying to get some info on it. For anyone who cares, here is the parts list to plumb the pump up clean in the rail. The Bosch uses a 18M x 1.5 inlet and a 12M x 1.5 outlet so a couple adapters are needed to fit it to the -6AN lines.

Summit Part #'s

(1) EAR-9894DBJ-ERL (16m female to -6AN hose adapter)
(1) EAR-303006-ERL (-6AN braided fuel hose 36")
(1) RUS-670541 (Bosch pump inlet adapter, 18m x 1.5 to -6AN)
(1) AER-FBM2246 (Bosch pump outlet adapter, 12m x 1.5 to -6AN)
(2) EAR-800106-ERL (swivel hose ends)
(2) EAR-818006-ERL (180* swivel seal hose ends)
(1) EAR-991955-ERL (16m male to -6an hose adapter)

Non-Summit Part #

(1) Dorman-65275 (M18, 11/16" copper crush washer)

I will post up some pics when I finish the install.

yea, more fuel is always a good idea. And seeing how you are about to up the power might as well do it now.
Do you know how you are going to install it? or where?

I'm curious to hear what you think about how loud it is....I've been considering this setup for a while but can't stand listening to an external pump all the time.

I have an extended cab, so there should be room to install it right in the frame rail. I am supprised how well the stock 8.1L pump has done holding up to 400+ rwhp. Its one of the reasons why i am doing an inline and not replacing the stocker right now.

I am going to install it with some padded clamps to hopefully baffle the sound a little. If its still to loud, I am sure I can fab something up to enclose it a little. Have your heard things specifically about this pump.......or just inlines in general?

I've heard very good things about the bosch (high output, low noise) I hope they're true. The only inline I've heard is the one that came with a holley injection kit I used, I believe it was a walbro and it was pretty loud.

Should be here in a few days.....if it comes while I am off for Christmas and New Years....I might make some time to install it. I will post back after I do the install with some pics and audio/video clips.

If the inline quits or goes bad.....will the intank pump push past it or will I have to call for a tow?

The intank will flow through a dead inline but, any load at all and your fuel pressure will drop.

My TBI truck would not push throu an inline pump when the fuse blew, truck died. But is an easy check. Hood it all up and leave the wire off the inline, to see what happens.
At least if something goes wrong you are not on the side of the road with it. Or is a dark airport parkinglot.
