I would use the Eastwood stuff if you're wanting a rattle can finish, otherwise like Gadgetized said get it professionally done for the best results.

I've painted intercoolers, 40k tru cools, and heat exhangers black for a while now. It's never had any negative effects on anything.

It won't hurt it. Just don't get crazy with heavy coats filling the air channels.
Light coats and completely dry before driving it.
You can even use a heat gun to make sure its dry.
