Default P1SC-1 VS 76mm Turbo kit?

This post is not done with intensions of starting a pissing contest. I have a 1956 3100 Chevy truck that I have installed a 6.2l L92 into it along with a T56. I have a big cam in it and it's all motor at 435 to the wheels. I like the power but want that wow factor of Forced induction (been there before on another build) but not sure which way to turn for the money. I found a complete P1SC-1 kit local to me for $2500, or I also like the KB Racing turbo that Midnight has for sale with the 76mm turbo for close to the same price. I'm just torn on which way to go????

this is not a race truck. Just something to take to the truck shows and play with, drive it every week on Sunday's. I have had a few 600hp cars and trucks and I like to have that if I want it. Hope I can get some help with this one.

The 76mm has far and away more potential than the p1. I'd recommend a d1 for you. Even still the 76 can probably go further.

Both will be impressive I guess it's all in what you want. Neither are easy to push hard and both have their challenges. I think the procharger tees to be harder to dial in, but there is more that can go wrong and cause some sort of melt down and catastrophic failure with a turbo. The turbo would also require a little more maintenance.

I appreciate the input. I would dial both back to be safe and not hurt the motor. I had my last Vortech setup kill my new LQ9, won't make that mistake again. Honestly if I can get the procharger to make 550 to the wheels I will probably be happy. I worry about belt slip, but my hope is a katech belt tensionwr can solve all of that. It's just nice knowing its a complete kit.

Just the turbo would be something new for me I guess. I'm trying to get talked out of the procharger really, but damn $2500 is a good deal

P1 is a watse imo, So if you buy that kit you will want a D1 as soon as possible. That P1 on your cam'd L92 will be out of breathe early

I truthfully like the turbo's performance potential vs. the P1. a 76 on your motor should be able to put 600whp without making it work hard whereas the P1 will be absolutely maxed before going over 600. After that, it's mostly preference, IMO

While I agree its not a waste it wouldnt make that sam epower on a 6.2. It would run out of steam a hell of a lot sooner.

Not. The 6.2 flows a ton more in this instance. Bigger (obviously), but much better flowing heads, and a much larger cam. My guess is it would make a decent mid range but be falling on its face by 5k.

Not exactly true, have a customer with a p1sc on a 6.2 and it made 650rwhp on 6 psi

Also heads I'm using out flow what stock square ports flow

As for 76mm not everyone needs a 76 as not all 76 are the same
You can have a 600max 76mm and have a 1200hp 76mm

I ran the d1sc on my 00 ecsb with an 05 lm7 5.3 motor at 10lbs of boost with meth on a 4" pulley for 40k miles never had belt slip issues and put down 510 to the wheels on a dynojet dyno an 420lbs of torque. 60lb injectors stock fuel pump + helper pump that came with the d1sc kit. I also have a rcsb with a 408 and a 80mm turbo an let me say it pulls way harder. I was never happy with my d1sc until I ordered a 3.5 pulley an that really woke it up.
