ordered meth kit.

I have a stg 1 snow kit coming. Nothing special or fancy, just something to lower the intake temps. What suggestions do you guys have a far a mixing ratio. I am considering running the kit without being tuned for it? Right now Im running around 11psi, whats the highest amount of boost safe for the stock 5.3 with just a cam, springs, and pushrods? Is 13-14psi unsafe? Let me know Nick.

If your bottem end is stock and not forged your already pushingyour luck.IMO. I have seen people push 14psi on stock internals and be fine, but also seen bad things happen at 7 and 8psi. The water/meth will help make the boost more efficent and less likely that you will have detnation. As far as a mix snow sells 50/50 by the gallon. you wont see alot of performance out of this if you are intercooled, but if you are not you will see more power increases. Higher meth levels will gain more power(75/25).

im running p1sc with 15psi and using a alky meth kit with a in cab controller on a 5.3. the engine has a stock bottom end. with lots of other mods.. i got 560rwhp 480rwtrq on the mustang dyno.. almost 1 year and a half now and i race/beat on the truck alot and its my daily driver..I pefer the alky kits over the snow kits. the alky kits are all braided lines and steel or brass fittings. some snow kits ive seen are not as good quality... i use strait e85 meth from any place that sells vp. you should look up the alky kits online before you go with snow and compare.

Highly debated topic...theres someone on this site who has taken a stock bottom 5.3 over 30psi. If you pull enough timing, you can run 13psi safely. Getting greedy with the timing with high boost is what kills stuff.

Right now Im running 11psi and spraying 25/75 % mixture. At wot I am pulling consistent 10.9s. I havent had a retune for the meth and it doesnt seem to have changed my afrs. Nelson says that the truck is running low timing and that it could be bumped up quite a bit. I am also stuck on a decision of buying hptuners and letting nelson tune the truck via email or taking it and having it dyno tuned.

Buying HPTuners will give you a lot of flexibility in the future if you decide to do further modifications or changes to your boost. But if you want quick reliable results, get it strapped and let it spin.

My afrs didnt change really. There staying consistent 10.9 throughout, before it would start to lean out a little up top. Its the basic snow stg 1 spraying the biggest nozzle in the kit.
