Im new to stall converters im sure there similar to a clutch kit in an atv but probably a whole diff ball game.... Its a DD 4l80 trans 3:42 gears 5.3L 214-218 560 lift -116lsa pt 76mm .81 ar. Looking for something that wont jerk my head off but yet still perform decent at the track.

 

3000-3200 circle d should be fine

 

Will the weight of the truck affect the converter stall as far as it flashing whatever its stalled to? I was looking at 2800-3200 still planing on towing but prob not more that 3-4k lbs.

 

3000-3200 will do you fine....you just need to changed the 3.42s 2 either 3.73 or 4.10s its will be a beast

 

well my plan is to leave the gears.. the turbo with 10psi should take care of the beast part.

 

better gear will get you off the line better....you can still tow with 3.73s or 4.10s
and change them flapmasters out there stealing hp

 

oh ya i have a 3.5 dp going into a 4in

 

3.73 or 4.10 will only HURT the turbos performance...

I went with FTI!! A **** ton of people run them over on tech and lots of people say they give you what u want the first time. I'll be putting mine in this weekend.
