Default Oil Temperature

What's a normal oil temperature for a naturally aspirated motor?
How much will the oil temperature rise with an oil-cooled front-mount turbo?
And at what oil temperature would you start to get worried about the oil breaking down?

Thanks

ive often wondered the same thing..
we were out having alil fun in the truck and noticed that the oil pressure had dropped while at idle, but the ECT was 235 and the trans was 210 so things were getting hot..
when the ECT got back down to 195 for a lil while the oil pressure returned to what it was suppose to be..
now im curious as to running a gauge.....

My main reason asking is because I am too getting a gauge and need to get the correct range. I think they come in 100-250, and 140-300, and some others. But I'm too curious about what is considered an unsafe oil temp.

What gauge and sending unit are you getting? I'm interested in doing this as well.
I plan on using an aluminum F-Body mount (GM 12551595) replacing the block-off plate that is located directly above the oil filter. The F-body mount can be drilled/tapped to house a sending unit. I guess this is the best route. Thoughts?

depends on the oil, mobil 1 wont last at 300*, but Klotz racing oil will, 300* at 8500rpm for 45 minutes in dirt track motors. thats all we run. this is what the big dogs run.
