Default not too happy with my BW turbo right now

How many miles arr people getting out of their turbos? This whole truck has been a nightmare this year. I broke valve springs and just changed them last night. While I was removing stuff so I could get to the balancer, I removed the wet intercooler. It had oil in the bottom of it. I did see it burning oil lately abd I associated that with only having 1 catch can so didn't think much about it. Anyways I wiggled the turbo wheel and there is pretty bad play in it. Side to side not front and back. I only have 5k miles on this turbo, I would have thought it would have gotten 10 times the miles out of it. I change the oil about every 1500 miles. There is a 4an feed line coming from above the filter, and 10an return line to the front of the pan.

Has the compressor blade touched the cover?

Will that video play? Nothing in and out. Only side to side. Damn I really wanted to make a good pass this year.

How is your oil lines configured.
Looking from the from of the truck rearward.
Where's your inlet fitting at 12oclock, 3oclock?

My oil feed line is exactly at 12 O'clock. I ordered a rebuild kit for it so hopefully I can keep it together. I will just mark the shaft, nut, and wheels and put them back in the same position. The only thing I can think of is I had ruined the bearings on the original build and maybe it put debris in the turbo. I never even drove it like that, just a couple minutes of start up. I cleaned it out real well, and hace always checked the shaft every time I remove the filter/elbow. Hopefully I can figure the problem out before I ruin it again.

Most turbos I've installed at work, New (on semis) have side to movement. Seems like a lot, but they are new.
