NNBS Whipple Install
#31
Well, not the full update that I wanted but I have some updates nonetheless.
I didn't get a chance to make it to the track this weekend and will have to wait until Friday if I am lucky enough to still be home at that point. (Busy year with business)
I did however get the exhaust tips for the Corsa system raised and welded into a more appealing location, got an O2 bung welded in, did a temporary install of a DynoJet WB2, and got HPTuners all lined out along with a new tune. There are no dynoes to my knowledge in the Houston area that will fit my AWD truck, so we had to do a street tune and get it the best we could before running into issues with the local police. The first thing I have to say is that the custom tune made a HUGE difference. The surge around 1800 rpm is gone, the tune was leaned out a bit from the whipple handheld pre tune, and everything else in general just improved a great deal.
With my tires 305/40-r22 Parada Spec-x at 31.75" diameter and the computer set to the same I did two passes trying to get a ballpark result with the AeroForce scan gauge. The results are below. You will notice I had to let off on the second run.
If these times are anywhere near close I am going to be VERY happy with an official timesheet in the mid 12's while still having on my heavy @ss chome 22" wheels. Keep an eye on the thread as I still need to get a boost reading (Guessing I'm around 5 to 6 psi) and if all goes well I'll have some true 1/4 mile times by Friday evening.

Forgot to mention, that the Whipple supplied 46# injectors are at 102% at the 1-2 shift and down to around 97% for the other shifts. I will be upgrading to some 60# injectors, 2 bar map, and bringing the boost up to 8 PSI around the end of the year. The only delay will be trying to save my trans until March of 2011 if at all possible, I've spent enough this year.

Nice first testing, cant wait to see what all gets done by friday, great job thanks for sharing. If you get to the track friday do you plan to run the big wheel/tire? You must be thinking this could crack 11s someday if your testing is accurate

I am considering putting on the stock 18's and crappy stock tires. I am also curious what it would do in full street trim though. I'll mull it over during the week and see.
I am not chasing times for me or the truck, but I think a lot of others are curious what the whipple will do so it puts me in 50/50 spot right now.
