we run vettes at 14 psi with no problems with em. Heck even one of the R&D beasts snapped the needle off a 20 psi boost gauge in cold weather.........on TR6's...

I think that my best chance to get my question answered is to revive this post. Y2K, what kind of fuel were these Vettes running? What kind of WOT timing? I'm getting high rpm KR, and thinking of going colder than my TR6s.

It comes down to compression first off, then how much you are adding to it.

A BR7EF is an old plug, been using them for years. I use them on high compression nitrous cars mainly. You will find they drive less responsive then the TR-6. You will also see because of how cold they are, they will carbon up around the base alot faster too. So for us, its drag race or big time use only.

93 octane pump gas, do you have methanol at all? could give yourself a lil more fuel and the cooling effect up top.....might help you vs. pulling an exorbinant amount of timing.

as for timing I'd be guessing at best, usually its see what doesn't knock and pull it back 2-3 degrees

I am extremely anti-alcohol injection. I think I'll try some 7-range plugs, it won't be too big of a waste of money. I just wanted to compare timing and try and understand why a vette wouldn't knock where my engine does. And I really don't want to take 2-3° away from only 17°.

10.3:1, 9-10 psi. 93 octane. With my terrible tune, it is running 10.5:1 AFR at full boost and seeing KR above 4000 Rs.

If you took a setup that was tuned with no KR in a vette and put it in your truck it would most likely knock.. Truck is much heavier and puts a higher load on the engine.

also aluminum block vs. iron...aluminum is a lil more forgiving for holding in heat etc.

Not true, this is only true if not tuned in the right fashion.
