You wont hurt pulling power with a procharger

On this site you will see ppl have favorites

Some love PD blowers like vortec does
Youll see ppl like blown06 loves his prochargers
Ive had PD, centrif and turbos for boost

My 2010 has a procharger cause of deal but i was in market and did consider a used PD but i passed as juat wasnt my wanting

I had plans to turbo truck and still will

But a procharger wont leave ya with lack of if you choose the correct head unit....tossing on a F1 would be bad even D1 would be interesting....my P1 sees 5 psi at 2400 rpms and honestly thats all i need to tow at those rpms

On 12 psi my 5.3 makes 545rwtq

Well put George. Thanks.

No form of boost will "hurt" bottom end power. Some offer more than others, and the power is delivered in different fashions. Simple as that. The procharger likely will offer less torque at a very low RPM, but odds are you won't run 10PSI at 2200 RPM on the highway with a PD blower either... you will command a downshift before that happens. You literally can't go wrong.
Pick your poison and build around it.

While we don't trailer our 23' Nautique much I can tell you with my 12 6.2 Sierra Denali the gear spread was not ideal for freeway driving. No blower on that truck though, just a tune. Seemed like something in between 5th and 6th would have been better.

The 15 6.2DI Sierra with the 8speed pulls the boat nicely. I do have a procharger on it but no boost gauge, so I couldn't tell you how much it's assisting during normal driving. But stepping on it harder I know the ProCharger is doing its job. I've had 3 or 4 TVS trucks and just decided to change for the sake of changing and have been very happy so far. I'm only running 7psi and it goes pretty darn good, especially on corn.

I also saw your post wondering about tuning for the 8sp TCM. I have both HP Tuners and EFI live, and if you add up the plus's of both of them for the 8speed its still not enough to get what I was used to with the 6 speeds and 4L70's ect. That said there are some tweaks between the ECM and TCM that work well for me. And I'm making 490 whp on gas and a little more on corn due to timing and fueling but I never dyno'ed it with E85.

Thanks for writing back about the Tuning for the 8 speed too. I'm in between dumping a bunch of money into this truck or waiting a year or two and boosting a truck that doesn't have over a 100K. Either way I think I'll boost it with what ever I find the best deal on. I was hoping the 8 speed pulled better but I guess not.

The 8sp pulls a lot better than the 6 speed. It does make some harmless clunking noises when down shifting but its been solid to 25k miles so far.
