I'm pretty sure KB racing has 2.5" piping to the IC and then 3" all the way to the TB on his front mount kits. 3" is plenty big for your needs... I would clamp your MAF sensor directly to your throttle body and then get a reducer coupler from your MAF sensor to your IC piping. You don't have to mount the MAF sensor directly to the TB but just make sure that it is closer to the TB than the BOV is.

thanks for the response, looks like I will do a 3" pipe insted of 4
