Default New fuel system?

being stuck at 500rwhp due to lack of fuel is starting to get boring. th400 swap underway and will be itchy for more power. Going to put a 16gal fuel cell in bed, a1000 pump, -10 feed and -8 return w/ regulator on firewall. Can the current returnless fuel rail and crossover be used by adding the regulator and return line? on my 02' everything looks the same other than the regulator on the line. how much power can stock fuel rails support? don't know if anyone has tried this conversion like this. if i'm going to trouble of a new fuel system i would like to have it to support 800rwhp.

Im not 100% but im pretty sure i heard that the stock rails would handle 800 but with this caliber of a build you might as well spend the extra money and get some sort of billet rails, just my .02

If your gonna run a feed and return, go ahead and do rails and a crossover IMO.

Unless you're running a carb, -10 feed is stupid huge. -8 will support double your expected power, you would be fine with -6 still

To give an example, this setup is just under 900 at the crank. So far the pump is the limiting factor

nice post. i know -10 is overkill, never know what the future plans will be and most pumps have -10 inlet/outlet. decided on aeromotive billet rails instead of trying to use a stock rail. thinking of a magnafuel pump too, overkill also, but a1000 seem to not last long.

I agree with Pocket...I run 2 walbro 255s with -6 feed and the stock feed line as the return, and with the dynamic fueling of the E38 it will handle over 1000rwhp without a doubt. Too many people wasting money on a 1500hp fuel system on their 700hp engines...

i run dual pumps with -8 feed and -6 return. i upgraded to a return style system also. just a heads up i upgraded to some ls1 fuel rails and the -8 fittings barely clear the fire wall off the back of the rails and i had to grind a lil off the altinator so they would clear it , i dont think -10 fittings will fit with out some serious modding in those areas, you might want to look into it but like what other are saying -10 would be way overkill -8 is over kill even.

thanks, the rails have -8 and will just reduce down from -10 to -8 at the pump. going w/ -8 and -6 return now. everyone talked me out of -10 feed. cost wasn't much different between the two. i usually go overkill on everything.
