Hey guys about to buy a s475 kit for my truck. Hoping to make 700ish and daily it. Before I buy though, I've been wondering if anyone has tested or has changed from an s turbo to the newer efr/sxe turbos? Definitely more money but are the upgraded things they've added worth it? Obviously they should be but just hoping to get some insight before emptying my wallet.

Yeah I can't find a turbo vs turbo thread. Or anything proven that those better lighter stronger internals are worth me spending the extra money. I saw one guy say he went from an S to the efr and saw way faster spool time but not enough proof for me not to buy the proven S475/480 turbos.

I think the s475 is pretty proven and for a DD should be just fine. If you were going max effort or racing then I’d spend the extra money for sure.
Is the new one better? Sure it is. Does it cost more? Yep!
Lastly, price out the whole project both ways...only you can decide how the build fits your budget.

There’s a nice S480 ETR-HO in the classifieds if you want to go big on the top end...
