A few folks are running the STS with a slammed truck, someone should chime in.
STS makes a filter relocation kit that will move it further up in the wheel well. Or some have made custom air boxes inside the bed for even more protection.. Lots of options for you!
I'm guessing you don't drive around much in really nasty stuff ( sounds like you have a nicely modded truck ). Only time a few folks have sucked water was in very heavy rain and standing water. EC trucks cause water to run down between the cab and bed right on top of the filter. Something as simple as a deflector above the filter where the cab/bed junction solved the problem.

Sorry for whoring the post but....Wilde, I have been meaning to ask you why you have a boost reference line that tee's off your snail and goes to the boost controler? Is this an old pic, because I thought you had yours referenced off the maifold. Just wondering.

On the subject of the post, if you are going to run an STS kit on a slammed truck as long as you are running some type of filter relocation kit I don't think you will have issues.
Think about all the Camaros, Firebirds, GTOs, and Vettes with the STS kits, they are low to the ground too.
Stay the hell away from deep puddles anyway.

The filter on mine is just as high if not a little higher as where the stock filter mounts when measuring to the ground.

Yep, it is a old pic, I got a bigger turbo under there now and the boost ref. is off the intake.
