thanks , can i use the same reference as my boost gauge is useing? i have a "wye" for it from the back of the manifold.

Hemifever was playing with the reference signal source. Some of the Dodge kits were having trouble building full boost in 1st gear and at high RPM's. Moving the WG source to the intake manifold area solved the problems. Theory was that the air velocity in the snail/compressor housing was moving so fast that it created a vacuum across the opening instead of pressure.

aww!, great point and explanation! sounds like the instructions need changed. sorry about kinda rerouting the post. i think as long as you get the snorkel kit youll be alright with a lowered truck, and you can also use the info here when you hook up your boost controller.
