need help with turbo selection

A t-netics TC78 would work nice and leave you some room to grow. F1 turbine wheel and .96 hot side. We can make 10psi before 3k on the foot brake with a 6l engine. Comes on like a light switch and makes good power. On a 6l that would make about the same NA power as you or a touch less made 655/650 to the tires at 14psi with one on pump fuel, through 22's and a unlocked converter.

when he said it was capable of making 1000-1100 crank hp at first i thought it was much much to big for me, cause all i need right now is just 465-500 rwhp and maybe 650-700rwhp after i get the motor built ( prob will happen within the next year or so)im just hoping it wont be too much lag?? i have upgraded camshafts in my truck ( jim wolf said they are good for boosted applications with minimal overlap) and long tube headers.. im just hoping it wont be too hard for me to build and hold boost without using the stock manifolds.. i hate going backwards and refuse to replace anystock crud back on my vehicle, hehe
so if i need to chage the housing ar which would you use??

yea i dont like buying stuff twice and i like peace of mind knowing that the injectors i'll be using wont be past 80% of thier capability.. a tuner told me before you never want to push a injector to it's max bad things can and will happen

It will come on plenty fast with the .96 a/r. In the 6l truck we went to a 1.15 and that is still to small for my taste. The back pressure is a little high at about 900hp. Also the damn thing comes in to boost if you look at the go pedal funny.
If you want it to come on really fast you could go with a .81 housing on a TC70. Then later on you can just bolt a bigger one in its place with out changing any piping. The 70 with that housing would get you to 600+ to the tires too. After that the back pressure would be getting very high though.

I think you would be happy with a T70, .81 AR exh housing. If you want more power you could allways go with the T76, .81 but unless you want to run 10's the T70 should work well, and spool really fast. If you were front mount I would go a with a .96 AR. To me a turbo that is on the smalish side is funner on the street than one on the biggish.

Im at 97% and im doing just fine, I dont go crazy on the street all the time though. But like stock48 said, a 70 should be fun on the street. My 67 is a little small for me, but it gets up and goes

thanks guys guess i'll be buying me a turbonetics tc-70 Ballbearing turbo then.. should i do watercooled or no?? i guess after you turn the truck off it pumps water/antifreeze to it to cool it is this needed??

The water cooled option will not benefit you much at all. Besides it only runs coolant through it when it is running. Also I would save the money and not get a BB unit myself. That is more ricer hype then anything. I have never even dyno'd a nice v8 setup, street or race with the bb option. If you want more really good info on that call Jose at FI. He knows more about turbos then any of us can imagine.
