Default need good sts tune

where can i get a good tune for a 2001 5.3 silverado with the stock sts kit and stock motor? (south cali area) is nelson good? or a chassie dyno tune? please help me out guys

call nelson if you cant get a good street tune where you are at....his tunes dont leave much out on the table.....

is that the guy in the san fernando valley? can you give me his number and how much he run for? is it a chassie dyno?

do i have to worry about the tranny? with a stock motor and basic sts kit at 5 pounds?

The tranny will go after some hard driving with any power additive. I would say to get the truck tuned by someone locally. I still dont know how you can get a custom tune from someone that isnt even looking at the truck as it is being tuned

Nelson tuned mine about a year ago and has just done a super job!! The reason I know is since then I have installed a wideband and purchased hp tuners and have been able to look at and monitor his tune. It was really close and we have sent files back and forth to further fine tune. Allen is the man for mail order tune!!

You got that right. Allen has been helping me out through every upgrade and mod to the base STS kit I have. Never had any real isues with his tunes, I just keep changing and upgrading and he has always been real close with my truck!! You cannot go wrong with Nelson IMO.

ok so with nelson you just hit them up tell them what u got packin and they send u a handheld plug it in and you set? then if u get another mod the will send you another one?
