Default my turbo'd engine plans

Just thought I'd run my ideas by you guys and see what kind of opinions I can get. The heart is a seasoned vortec 350 block that is currently sitting on the floor of my garage with two spun rod bearings. All internals will be scrapped and it will be prepped to receive an all forged 396 stroker rotating assembly with dished pistons. I will also be converting it to 4 bolt main using Milodon splayed main caps and more then likely studs rather then the supplied main bolts. Pretty much clueless on the cam but it is a roller block so plenty of options there. For heads I'm thinking Dart Iron Eagles. I've been told 180's would be best to keep high velocity for great lowend but I also want to make some pretty significant HP as well. I am thinking something more along the lines of the Iron Eagle 215s. For an intake I like the looks of the World Products Motown high rise single plane intake which I've been told has provisions for nitrous nozzles which can be easily made into ports for a multiport fuel injection setup. Then for the turbo I want a single garret turbo that I would like to be capable of making say 800 HP or so. It will of course be air to air intercooled and I'd say running on around 95 octane. Basically I'm looking for kind of old school looks with the engine but also with good performance and the functionality of a properly setup turbo system. This would be going in a 95 chevy ecsb truck too and backed with a very built 4L80E.

Sounds like you have a good handle on it. I'd definately go with the biggest head your budjet would allow. The iron eagle 215cc are a very nice head for cast iron. Probably the best cast iron head on the market for sbc. As far as turbo size a 76mm precision would give you virtually no lag on 396 cubes and the s-trim supplies up to 1100hp and a slightly less efficient q trim is capable of 950hp. A T4 flanged 88mm would be a better choice for power and efficiency on yours but it would far exceed your power levels(1350hp). Of course you don't have to crank it up.

fyi the old style 'rams horn' exhaust manifolds will flip upside down on the opposite side and it creates a real handy little mounting place for a turbo

Well this idea got shot out of the water pretty fast. Apparently the block just won't be able to hold up to that kind of power. I priced a block from world products and they are 2300 and after doing a little price comparing it would be stupid to even use a small block for that kind of power. Been doing some research on stock Gen V big blocks and with forged internals they seem to handle into the 900 range fine. And actually the forged 496 stroker kit for the big block is only 300 more then the 396 kit for the small block. I've only got 200 in my vortec small block and I still want to use it someday on something, it just isn't gonna be "THE" engine for my truck.
