Power was decent, but I hated how the setup was non-intercooled and I wanted to run more boost. So I posted an add on Craigslist and unloaded it for $2800 cash.

I researched turbo kits and decided on Trick Performance as I really liked the cast manifold, a bit pricey, but very well overall quality. The welds were nice and clean and everything fit perfect.

Over the course of 4 days I worked slowly pulling the old parts off and fitting the new parts making sure everything was wrapped and away from the heat. I dropped the pan and fitted a -10an drain right above the oil pressure sensor. The drain (not pictured) consists of about 2' pushlok hose and a 90 off the pan up to a 45 at the bottom of the turbo. I extended the heater core hoses with leftover 3/4" hose from the garage and 2 brass straight and 2 brass 90 fittings (originally couldn't find metal and used sched 80 plastic fittings and they deformed like crazy within 2 days) The oil feed is a -4an line with a ebay block adaptor. I originally bought a 42" line, but iit was about 6-8" short, luckily I had an old line from one of my DSM's so I just union'ed it together.

After I was satisfied with the fitment I pulled the grill and headlights and got to work on mounting my ebay core. Which measures 31x12x3 I used existing holes on the frame and a couple flat brackets and mounted up the bottom only. The piping holds the rest firmly in place. I ran 2.5" piping off the turbo into the intercooler which is also where the Tial 50mm blow off valve rests. Out of the intercooler is 3" up to the maf and transitions to 4" up to the throttle body.

To keep tabs on things I have a wideband o2 and boost gauge setup in a custom gauge pod I molded and set into this stock plastic piece I pulled out of a junkyard Sierra. Initial run with a small red 5.8psi spring in the 38mm wastegate netted me 3psi. Unsatisfied with that I swapped out the red spring and installed a large yellow 10 psi spring, which netted me 6psi. First day out

All I can say is the truck is an entirely different animal vs the supercharger. At the same boost level, same tune, it has a hell of a lot more power. I eventually plan to get a Walbro 450 pump in in and change it over to return style. I want to run E85, so I'll likely swap in a set of 80lb or larger injectors, but for now I'm fairly satisfied. The stock wheels/tires are holding me back, but it is what it is.

So since the valve covers are swapped where do you fill your oil?

Fill neck extension is removed so cap itself, screws directly into the valve cover. Valve covers are swapped left to right so now the oil cap is up on the driver side firewall. This was done to mount the supercharger, I didn't see the need to swap them back, however it is a PITA to fill with oil where its located now.

All together I spent about $3k, The turbonetics 76mm Turbo was $793 shipped to my door. Spent about $1660 at Trick Performance. $200 for intercooler and pipes $125 on a used Tial Wastegate, Had that Tial BOV laying around from an old build. and a few dollars here and there for misc parts.
