Default MSD 6014 2.5 bar map

It was brought to my attention on LS1 Tech after purchasing this box for my 4.8 blow through that it will only support around 21 lbs of boost after correcting for atmosphere . It will work for now at the planned 14 lbs but for the money I am a little disappointed that I will have to look for something else in the future as boost gets turned up.
It is going on a track only truck and as with most builds things will get squeezed as time progresses and because of my shortsightedness I will be spending more money I could have avoided.
Just a heads up for those that may be looking at one.

Other than this the box is a quality piece and timing and map curves that are loaded make it a plug and play for most applications. I will be running race gas so the option to write and store 4 tunes of my own with data logging is a bonus.

if the map sensor is external you can run any 0-5v sensor and just scale the map accordingly

How much boost were you planing on running? Just because the max it will "see" is 21, doesn't mean you can't run 30 with it if you wanted to. You just put the amount of timing you want at 30 lbs in the last cell of the timing table (21lbs) and it will carry that timing from 21psi to how ever high you have the boost set. I would think you wouldn't really run much different timing at 21 then you would at 30 anyway.

Perhaps you are right .. I am going to see if MSD has any insight to this.

Will be 14 lbs to get everything nailed down on junkyard 4.8 but will be building a serious shortblock once it has proven itself and all the little things are sorted.
