Default MSD 2320 IAT sensor install = problem!

I just installed the new sensor in my intake tube for my meth set-up.I used the black[not the black with white stripe] and tan wires from the MAF and hooked them to the new sensor.I don't think it matters to the sensor which way they are hooked up.

My problem is I now have no IAT reading, it is reading -38* F on my EFI live dashboard scan and I have a check engine light on now.Can these sensors be bad from the store or did I do something wrong?

thanks for any help!

You sure that's not a coolant sensor?

sounds like its mined. I had the same problem. Its kinda PITA. Probably a bad connection at the sensor, i would check it there. mine did the same thing but maxed the reading at like 200 something degrees.

I know its the tan wire. But what code is it throwing? maybe you grabbed th wrong black wire

One of the black wires is a ground. You need the one with +5 volts. Try the other black wire. I just got my 2320 IAT sensor in today!

Everything I read regarding tapping the AC wire for electric fans said there was 2 green wires in the loom by the junction box. Well, turns out my truck has 3 green wires in the loom, all of varying shades and one with a white stripe. Took me 3 tries to get the right wire.

Moral of the story is take everything you read with a grain of salt. Im confident your IAT will work with the other wire.
