Default Mp70 Vs Gt60-1

How much of an increase could I see switching to a MP70? Right now I have Kyle's old kit with a 60-1 running around 10psi. How much hp gain at the same boost is possible? Is it worth it? Thanks

I have seen someone on ls1tech say they got 40 rwhp more with a 67 from 60 increase on a f body at the same boost.

I am always lurking the classifieds for that deal on an upgrade as I am runnin a t60 on a 6.0

You also need to take into consideration how the turbo will hit. The 60-1 is an AWESOME low RPM turbo. Anything bigger than a 62 on a stock 5.3 and you should start thinking about how you want the power to hit... possibly with help from a higher stall... unless of course you are looking to slow down the spool. My T66 does spool just a little bit slower than the 60-1 I had... but with a 3200 stall its like having the best of both worlds.

The MP T70 should be a great turbo for a truck with a 5.3. The turbo Mustang guys have been using them on 5.0 engines for years and they spool pretty much instantly with the .68 housing. Your heads flow much more than 5.0 heads and you have a slight displacement edge, so you should be able to spool the .68 version faster. Even with the .81 housing they report extremely fast spool. Granted, these are underhood installs vs. your remote setup- but you should not have issues with a 5.3 and the .68 or .81 housings.

Switching to the t70 from a 60-1 will also lower your IAT's, which will you to make more power with a little more timing.
