Default Mp70?

Has anybody had a problem with the v-band groove on the exhaust housing? I tried installing the v-band clamp off of my Garret turbo on to the MP70 yesterday and it wouldn't fit in the groove that's machined into the housing. I have two housings for the MP70 and neither one would work. What gives?

no problems here. pretty sure it is your clamp. there is more than one style, some are made for thick v's and some are made for thiner v's.

Is there one in particular that works best for a thinner V?

you must have the .68 exhaust housing....i have a .98 and .68 and had to get out the grinder and cut less than a 1/8 inch off the lip of the clamp so it would go around the .68...still works great on both of em too...

i dont know where you get what clamp but i know i have had clamps that were still loose even when tightend down and others that were not wide enough to go across the 2 flanges and even start to tighten down.

You guys are right some clamps don't fit well on the MP's cuz the flange is a lil thick. I'm not sure if I am allowed to openly advertise here but I am a LS1tech sponsor?. So...... uh um uh um um I don't wanna get banned I'm not gonna say anymore.
