MP T-70 vs MP T-76

there is always some give and take with these things but when comparing the 70 to the 76 you wont see much aditional spool time. just looking at the question of 70 vs 76 on a 6.0 the 76 makes sence.
change the question so you are comparing the mp76 to the pt88 and then there are a lot of things to consider. sure the pt88 will make a ton more power but it will also be considerably more laggy. for a street truck the pt88 might be a bit much and loose some of the fun factor. just looking at the compresor maps the pt88 is a great match for a 6.0 but in real life it takes some of the fun out of driving it.

Most people assume PSI equals HP but like Jim stated above.. If your out of the efficiency range you might not pick up anything.
Different turbo manufactures use different wheels, covers etc. some are far more efficient than others.
My 83mm outflows some 88mm units on the market.
I would run the new TC78 on a 6.0 for a good street setup.

I have heard that the STS kit lets you get away with a little smaller turbo for some reason. Is there any truth that? My truck runs really well with the mp70 but I am debating on switching to the mp76 in the spring. Is it worth it?

I think the reason they "say" you can run a little smaller turbo is to make up for the lag associated with the extra piping IMO..... I'd match the compressor as usual, but maybe run a smaller exhaust housing to compensate.

I thought it was BS. I turned my boost controller up all the way a couple of weeks ago and the mp70 would only build 13psi with the 6.0L and Z06 cam. I assume the turbo is completely done so I may have to go up to the mp76 soon.
