Default Mixing E-85 with 93 for Boost

While doing my usual internet plundering I ran across a boosted grand national fellow who says he has been mixing e-85 and 93 petro for years in the 6 gal. of petro to 5 gal. of e85 to obtain what he feels is about e-44 which he also concludes or estimates is 100 octane or so. My fuel system won't support e85 right now, but maybe e44 and meth would do me right. Of course at that point I would want to add a lil 50 shot too so I'd be running 93, methanol, ethanol , and nitrous. I'll need some of those triangle warning signs for the tailgate

No, I have not been drinking...

yet...

At 12-14mpg, sounds like a hassle. :-)

Wouldn't it be easier (and more accurate) to just add a second Meth nozzle to get the octane?

Oh sure make it simple. LOL. I have not bought the meth kit yet though, but there is an e-85 down the street ...

I run 25% most of the time. Just put 5gal of E85 and 15gal of 93 when I fill up. Really seems to help a lot. I can run 15psi with 19* of timing and don't get any KR. Plus the truck feels a bit stronger just running around. I really like it. All I did for tuning it was add 6% to my VE tables (SD tuned) and trims and WOT are right in line.

Surely you meant to say 5 gallons of E85 not meth...

What fuel pump are you running now Kyle? Truck looked great in recent vids.

Haha, yep!

I just replaced my 5 year old in tank Walbro 255 and in line walbro 255 with a single in tank Areomotive 340 and a Racetronics hot wire kit. Seems to be working great. Feeds my 70lbs injectors to 80% with me running 15psi and 6200 shifts.

The trucks been running pretty good. I just put my S480 with a T4 hot side on the truck. I need to get it out to the track and see how she runs!

So if i was running 5-7% rich could i get away with adding 5 gal e-85 to my tank? Just turned my meth up and need to pull fuel but adding e85 sounds like a idea. Oh and i switched to 70/30 meth/water and truck seems to like it better then 100%meth.

As long as you are monitoring it to see how its running... why not. Boost loves E85, ask the single digit crowd.....
