Yea its simply not true. I cant speak to a higher concentration of water, but there is real science that backs up generating more HP with meth.

On a very basic level here it goes: There is more stored energy in the amount of meth it takes to run stoich than there is in the amount of gasoline it takes to run stoich. That stored energy is really measured in BTU's and it can basically be read as the fuels ability to create power.

Plain and simple there is more power in meth than pump gasoline.

I bet he lost power because it wasn't tuned for it. You have to tune for meth, if you don't want to then don't bother running it. I've been running it for awhile, if tuned properly then you can't even feel it go on and off. If it bogs or hesitates on meth then it's simply not setup properly.

Meth doesn't add power, it allows you to run higher cyl pressures safely which in turn allows more power.

This. Meth at stoich is capable of more power as I mentioned above... but you need to put it in the right environment and most definitely tune for it.

i think at a 50/50 mix almost no tuning is needed.

something to think about as for tuning or not tuning

i have 2 tunes for my truck, one tune I use the meth as octane when im racing and the other tune is my drive daily tune

now when I pull a load for example 2 weekends ago I was a combined weight of 15,800...When i tow I turn the meth on.. My meth nozzle is a 10 and i set the Alky controller to 6 out of 8. My daily tune has 12* timing in it. I dont retune for the meth when im towing. It does richen my tune up some but the cooling effect is why i spray it when towing

other part is i raise my timing to 18* when i use the meth for racing, that tune has less fuel in it to allow the meth to make up the difference

I also only run pure meth not mixes

ive also tried spraying E85 and the AFR richens up some but not as much as Meth

That's really interesting. Unless I'm remembering incorrectly I thought meth stoich was fatter than e85 stoich. Meaning the same amount of e85 sprayed should fatten up your wideband reading more... Assuming the same pump pressure/volume and nozzle size.

Ran out of meth on road trip and had e85 in trailer from racing so poured it in, so test was same day same setup

E85 is around 9.8 stoich vs meth being lower, so yes it read less rich compared to meth
