Default Meth system is......

Driving me nuts!!
Most of you know I was without for a month.
Now with new controller and new MAP, re-wired it functions BUT it seems to change it's set point at will! I dialed it in again yesterday and this morning it is pumping too much meth and I'm running way rich@wot.

I am about to rip this out of my truck and go another direction for cooler IAT's.
Anyone have any ideas on what's going on?

Cool

Not sure what is going on with it but you will have to get it running reliably and consistently before you can pull some fuel to tune your AFR. If all the wiring and grounds are good then you will have to verify the outputs from your MAP and Progressive control. You can check your MAP for a small vacuum/boost leak. What kit are you running? Have you contacted them for some advice to help you sort it out?

AlkyControll.
The install was done by Synergy and Rick has been working on it for me. I was just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this. Seems like my truck just does not want to run meth!

The best I could ever dial mine in was pretty good AFR in High RPM. Always has and probably will go rich right after shifts. I might be able to tune it a bit more with the 2 bar OS but haven't tried yet. Even with rich spots it runs better with it.

i haven't ran my meth in awhile, but when i was attempting to tune it in, it definitely has it's "spotting" of richness. So I tried tuning it with the ve table instead of PE/BE. Works alot better, however, you don't get as much coverage because you tend to miss some cells. That's the only danger of tuning the meth into your ve table, could have a really lean cell and never hit it before. The BE covers the whole are.

what's julio telling your trever1t? or rick, what's his input.

fww, i am still having trouble getting the maf/2bar combo tune to work right (having a low fail rate) and I am really suspicious your rich areas could be just that. I have no way to prove this in a scan that the MAF isn't failing.

HaHa. When you are sorting things out it can seem like everything is working against you. Diagnosing a problem can be a real b**ch. If you read through Julio's instructions carefully he has some good hints to set up the system that would also be good for diagnosing your problem. It can be the amount of time it takes that is often as much of a problem, especially if you are not doing it yourself.

My kit worked fine out of the box with the exception that it screwed up my G-Tech RPM readings and I have tried a couple of things but it is still not right. My kit works really well and I am very happy with it. I think you will find it a worthwhile addition once you get it sorted out. It almost sounds like it would be worthwhile going over the install step by step to make sure that there are no problems there. Try a different ground and power source to try to eliminate them from the equation. If all seems good you can try to wire in a 12v light or a meter (better yet) to see what readings you are getting from the MAP output and the Progressive Control to see if they are as expected and consistent.

The other thing is your WBO2 meter. If you are running really rich it can make your meter give some erratic readings so make sure that is not your problem. My LM1 gave me some wacky readings and I added the heat sink and it seems to be working much better but I have only logged it a couple of times so I still have my fingers crossed. LOL For one reason or another I have not pulled any fuel yet and I see 10:1 at WOT

If you do brake stalls make sure you read the instructions for grounding the purple wire to reduce flow until you lift off the brake.

Good luck and sorry to hear it is giving you such a problem.

Thanks guys.
I just got off the phone with Julio and it may be a matter of the gain being to low to give consistant results. He suggested turning up the gain, jetting down and tuning some fuel out.
I will leave this for Rick to play with after the holidays. At least the kit comes on when it should and I'm not running too lean!
