My 3rd pump that I got from Snow has now started leaking just like the previous 2. I have the pump mounted on its side in the area on the passenger side near the firewall where the brace used to be. Does it need to be mounted vertically or am I just getting one crappy pump after the next?? It always starts leaking from where the plastic cap and metal body join. This last pump was even coated with "goop" around this area to prevent this. It didnt stop it. Any ideas? Its a good thing my tune switched back to low octane when the meth runs out. This **** is getting old. Have any others had this issue??

 

No problems with my Alky pump

 

Alky Control - only pump modified to run staight methanol as far as I know.

Coolingmist says it has a new pump certified to run 50/50 water/methanol.

Are you sure of this?? I was under the impression that the pumps most of them use are the same. I know that the Snow kit advertises as being 100% meth safe. So Julio actually modifies a pump to make it suitable for meth or Julio is the only person taking advantage of available pumps that are meth safe and using them for his kits?? If that is true I have been wanting an alkycontrol kit for a while, but I have no complaints about the Snow controller(the only piece that hasnt broken). Can I get the kit minus the controller?? Anybody have a number for him?? I live in 20 minutes from him.

 

The only thing Julio does is change 2 orings in the pump to some that are more resistant to Meth. He sell just the orings for $10 bucks. I bought some a while back, but haven't put them in my Devils Own pump yet, I'm not sure where I put them, lol, I move to much D.O. says, they have run the surflow pump I have, on strait meth with no mods and have had no problems. Chance told me they have over 250 kits out there and have only had 1 or 2 pump failures. I'm running a mix of 2/3 -20 WW fluid and 1/3 meth though mine for the last 5 months with out any problems.

 

Just go to his site and get his number. I am sure he will sell you what you want. Better yet give him a visit and let us know what you think. He is a good guy to talk to and I am sure you will find him very helpfull. Moving up like you are he will make sure your kit is as bullet proof as possible.
