Max boost on Stock Intake Manifold

Does anyone know the max boost you can run on the stock intake manifold for the 5.3 vortec? I heard that at some point a metal or aluminum intake has to be used. Any info will help.

I think it would take just about anything you could throw at it. I would say atleast 18 20 psi, but I could be totally wrong.

i have seen over 25psi/1000rwhp with lots of stock parts up top. stock intake, fuel rails, fuel lines, throttle body. i dont think you can hurt that intake other than a nitrous backfire.
